The basics
Pricing, timeline, and scope.
What does the data audit cost?
A flat fee based on the size of your database, so you know the price before we begin. If you hire Trellis for Migration Management within 60 days of the audit, the audit fee is credited toward the project total.
How long does an audit take?
Most audits are complete within two to four weeks of receiving your data. We'll set a delivery date together at kickoff, so you'll know exactly when to expect your findings.
Do we have to hire you for the cleanup after the audit?
No. The audit is a standalone, fixed-fee deliverable. You keep the findings whether you hire us for anything further or not.
What do we actually receive from the audit?
A written findings report: a one-page executive summary up front, then the full detail with record counts for each issue. We walk through it live with your team – your implementation partner is welcome to join – and the report closes with a prioritized list of what to clean up before migration and what can wait.
Systems & industries
What we work with, and who we work with.
What CRMs and systems do you work with?
Any system that can export to Excel or CSV, which covers nearly all of them. For nonprofits: Raiser's Edge and RE NXT, Salesforce (NPSP and Nonprofit Cloud), HubSpot, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Little Green Light, Neon, and Virtuous. For law firms: Clio, MyCase, PracticePanther, Filevine, Smokeball, Litify, CosmoLex, and Actionstep. For real estate: Follow Up Boss, BoldTrail, Lofty/Chime, Sierra Interactive, BoomTown, CINC, Real Geeks, Wise Agent, Top Producer, Salesforce (including Ascendix and Rethink), HubSpot, Buildout, Apto, and ClientLook. For other businesses: HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, Pipedrive, and most anything else. We also work with homegrown databases and spreadsheets.
What industries do you work with?
Nonprofits, law firms, real estate professionals, and growing businesses of most any kind – organizations where relationship-heavy, records-heavy data is core to the work. If you're not sure you fit, reach out anyway; the same problem shows up in a lot of places.
Do you work with our existing CRM implementation partner?
Yes. We work under your engagement, not around it. Many clients come to us through implementation partners who need a specialist for the deep data hygiene work outside their own scope.
Trust & security
Insurance, data handling, and what's next.
Is Trellis Data Partners insured?
Yes. Trellis Data Partners is covered by General Liability and Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions) insurance.
How is our data kept secure during a project?
Every file we exchange moves through a dedicated secure portal, not email – encrypted in transit and at rest, with a full audit trail and links that expire. See the full breakdown on our Data Security page.
What's the difference between the audit and Migration Management?
The audit tells you what's actually in your database and what it'll take to fix. Migration Management is the next step if you want help choosing a new system and running the build itself – you can do one without the other, or both. See how Migration Management works.
We already migrated and the data is a mess. Is it too late?
Usually not. The audit works on a live system just as it does before a migration: we review an export, show you what carried over, and give you a prioritized plan to fix it. See what we do after a migration.
